Prominent Chevron resident and activist Noam Federman was sentenced to four months community service by the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
Federman was convicted of incitement to racism for his comments during an August 2005 television show which were along the lines “there are those who believe we can live alongside the Arabs as there are those who believe we can live with cancer. What Arab is considered good? One who hasn’t yet murdered a Jew,” adding “today, it is difficult to find such a person”.
The court exonerated him of 24 of the 25 counts of racism filed against him, including statements that convicted Rabin assassin Yigal Amir had good intentions, but acted wrongly.
Justice Rivka Friedman-Feldman had harsh words for the Kach activist, stating his criminal record demands a hard-handed approach, while she explained she cannot ignore the fact he was found not-guilty of most of the allegations against him. He was sentenced to four months community service, which will be performed in Shaare Zedek Medical Center, but Federman told the press he feels the sentence is too severe and as such, he plans to file an appeal.

If it is supposed to be COMMUNITY service, why not have him work in HIS community, namely Hevron, – maybe building new homes there for the expanding population!!!
