Chassidei Gur is adopting a number of recommendations which were released last week by Health Ministry officials pertaining to precautionary measures towards preventing the spread of swine flu.
According to a Ladaat report, notification is being made in all of the shuls affiliated with Gur in Erez Yisrael, including a call for mispalalim to bring their own towel. The towels that were previously available in the beis medrash and shuls for community use have been removed. Officials explain they simply cannot afford the obvious option, bringing paper towels, leading to the decision to request everyone bring one’s own towel.
Other health-related announcements are expected in the coming days ahead of Rosh Hashanah, as the ministry recently released a special alert pertinent to shuls ahead of the yomim tovim.
