Minister Peled: No Building Freeze in Yosh

Attending a Tel Aviv event on Tuesday hosted by Likud activists under the banner of “Protecting Jerusalem and the Golan Heights,” Minister Yossi Peled told the audience that he heard it with his own ears when he accompanied Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to Germany last week. He stated the prime minister told German Chancellor Merkel that Israel has not agreed to a building freeze in Yehuda and Shomron as the media claims he did.

The meeting, which was held on the 49th floor of Azrieli Tower, was a first in a series of planned events, surrounding the uncertain and ambiguous policies of the Netanyahu administration pertaining to building freezes and land deals with the PA (Palestinian Authority).

Peled, whose words were echoed by MK Tzipi Hotovely, told the audience that there are different views in Likud, as we all know, but at the end of the day, the decision is reached by democratic process, stating with certainty “Likud will not become Kadima 2”, referring to a possible internal split.

Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin was also on hand, providing a strong showing of support for the prime minister, stating “he comes from a good home, a strong home,” and as such, he will not disappoint. Rivlin added “we do not need permission from anyone” to live and settle the land.

MK Yariv Levin rejected a policy of bringing in “outsiders” to grant us permission as to where we may live and build in our own land.
