A 62-year-old male became Israel’s 18th swine flu victim. The chronically ill male was admitted to Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv. Like most other victims, his underlying medical condition made it increasingly difficult for his immune system to combat the illness, resulting in systemic collapse and death.

As the nation’s public schools prepare to open on Tuesday, September 1st, the health and educational systems are concerned over a possible outbreak in a school, with officials airing radio commercials calling on students to remain at home if they feel any flu-type symptoms.
