Jerusalem Councilmen Yossi Deutsch and his colleagues met on Thursday night to begin addressing the growing number of complaints surrounding the major changes in bus service in Jerusalem.
Deutsch stated that in his case, he does not use public transportation and therefore, he is somewhat out of the loop, admitting to the “failure” that appears the major changes and elimination of lines. In a Kol Chai Radio interview, Deutsch stated if need be, they will all take their case to the Ministry of Transportation, explaining the largest segment of commuters relying on buses is the chareidi community and no committee can tell the committee what is to their benefit when riders are enduring significant hardships following the changes.
“It should be clear to all, we are your representatives and we are here to advance the public’s agenda and make life easier, not more difficult. We may have nodded off a bit, but we realize the problem today and it is being addressed”. Deutsch apologized a number of times, stressing the public transportation issue is very high on his agenda as is the case with his colleagues. He added that admittedly, this may be a case of too little too late.

What’s so hard about putting back a bus line?
Buy a bus and put a driver into it. I could tell them how to do it if its hard for them…
