PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) is now indicating a willingness to take part in a trilateral meeting with US President Barak Obama and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu in the framework of next month’s United Nations General Assembly.
Such a move would officially signal a resumption of diplomatic talks between Israel and the PA. Responding to the PA leader’s statement, Prime Minister Netanyahu stated Israel has been signaling a willingness to resume talks, without preconditions, adding he has not received official word of such a meeting as of yet, just statements released to the media.
Netanyahu continues to express Israel’s desire to advance on the diplomatic front with the PA, eager to reach an agreement – adding his administration places a high priority on improving the PA’s economy towards contributing to regional stability.
