The 22-year-old avreich who was in grave condition following a near-fatal drowning on an Ashdod beach last week was niftar last night. The victim, R’ Yaakov Moshe Fein, was a resident of Bnei Brak. He is survived by his young wife. They did not have children.
He was transported to the hospital after CPR was performed, and was listed in extremely critical condition upon his arrival. He suffered neurological damage and was in a deep coma since the CPR resuscitation. Officials estimated it took about 20 minute before he disappeared in the water until lifeguards reached him and CPR was started. Doctors stated if he survived, he would remain in a vegetative state.
The niftar learned in the Grodna Yeshiva, and after his chasnah, moved to the Beit Meir Kollel in Bnei Brak. He is a grandson of Reb Reuven Fein ZATZAL, late Rosh Yeshiva of Torah Vodaas His father is R’ Meir Fein, a veteran Zaka and Ichud Hatzolah volunteer in Modi’in Illit. R’ Meir collapsed in shul on shabbos, and was transported to a hospital. The levaya is scheduled for Tuesday.

Unfortunately, a fatal drowning, not “near” anymore. BD”H
The almana will have to take chalitza since she had no kids.
Assuming the niftar has a brother.
Make or do chalitzah. Take chalitzah?
