It appears that over one hundred 3-year-olds living in the Eshkol Regional Council, communities in the Greater Gaza seamline area, will not be sending their little ones to daycare – not because they don’t want to, but because they simply cannot afford to.
The sharp increase in tuition for daycare is the result of a High Court of Justice ruling which stripped the Eshkol Council communities of their special border community status, which granted government subsidies for daycare and other perks.
Regional Council leaders have turned to the Ministry of Education to seek a viable solution.
