Bnei Adam’s Residents Agree to Leave

Reports indicate the residents of Bnei Adam, viewed as a unauthorized outpost by the government, has agreed to vacate the community without resistance. Prompting the decision was an ultimatum given to the residents of the small Shomron community by Ze’ev Chever (Zambish), who heads the settlement wing of Amana, which owns the caravans and supplies fuel for the generator providing them with electricity. Zambish is quoted as telling the residents that if they do not opt to leave, as the Settlement Council leaders wish, he will cut off fuel for the generator, leaving the community without electricity.

Amana adds if the community members, about 8 families, they community will incur the cost of the caravans, about NIS 120,000 each. Amana also threatened to abandon the community regarding services, compelling a decision, Galei Tzahal (Army Radio) reports.

Tensions are increasing between pro-Greater Eretz Yisrael activists and leaders and the leadership of the Settlement Council and Amana, who are agreeing to the voluntary removal of a number of outposts in talks with Defense Minister Ehud Barak.
