Afula Seeking to Encourage Teachers to Excel

Afula feels education is of paramount importance and towards improving the city’s school system, or perhaps more accurately, to motivate teachers, the top ten at the end of the school year will receive a NIS 5,000 bonus as well as an impressive gift which will be funded by the ORT system and Afula City Hall.

Afula City Hall believes “money talks” and it is willing to put up the cash prize in the hope it will encourage teachers to try harder and do more for the students. The competition will only include teachers employed in the new ORT Kiryat Chinuch school complex, which is home to over 1,000 students. There are 70 teachers eligible for the prize, teachers of grades 10-12.

The judges will assess the teachers in a number of areas, including their interaction with students, their level of professionalism in the classroom, their contribution to the school and their contribution to the student’s overall achievements.
