The controversial Meah Shearim mom was today, Monday, interviewed for about two hours by social workers as they evaluate her. Apparently, the interview, conducted in a Jaffe Street office of a state agency, will be part of the recommendation submitted to the court regarding suggest conditions and restrictions for the mother during her trial. The mother was escorted by her husband and mother.
The interview was not voluntary, but court-ordered as the Jerusalem District Court must render a decision as to the terms of the women’s remand during the trial against her. According to a Chareidim report, the mother was asked questions pertaining to her home and family, and she was requested to complete a number of standard diagnostic exams.
It should be pointed out that while the court generally weighs such a report heavily in rendering a decision, the court is not compelled to accept the findings and recommendations of social workers.
