Israel: Security Situation Reported – Action Not Taken

According to an eyewitness report, two teenage Arab males boarded a number 320 Super Bus which runs to Modi’in Illit. The two suspicious males boarded at Beit Horon. When the bus arrived at Maccabim Ckpt, the two hid, and the driver, also an Arab, did not inform soldiers of the situation.

The soldiers, who are expected to walk the length of the bus inside for just this reason, did not, opting to take a quick look around from their stationary position at the front of the vehicle and make their departure.

The eyewitness telephoned police and requested that at the very least, they alert Modi’in Illit security personnel in case the two are trying to infiltrate the community. Police took the caller’s information and call-back number.

The bus entered Modi’in Illit, did its standard tour into Brachfeld and other areas, and there was no sign of any security vehicle or police, indicating police may have decided not to alert local security in the community.

The two Arab males, who were laughing, got of the bus at the corner of Netiviot HaMishpat/Messilat Yosef.
