Mubarak & Obama to Meet in Washington on Tuesday

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and US President Barak Obama area scheduled to meet in the White House on Tuesday. The Egyptian leader left for Washington last week.

Egyptian officials reported over the weekend the two leaders will discuss matters pertaining to regional peace efforts and the two-state solution towards the creation of a Palestinian state on portions of Eretz Yisrael.

Mubarak’s place as an American ally in the Mideast has improved significantly with the current administration, with President Obama opting to deliver his message to the global Islamic community from Cairo.

Egypt continues playing a major role as the mediator between Israel and Hamas as efforts to obtain Gilad Shalit’s release continue. The disinformation and contradictory reports in the various Arab media sources surrounding an “imminent” prisoner exchange deal continue.
