MDA paramedic Felix Lotan is being cited for excellence by MDA commander Eli Bin for entering a sewer and rescuing a small child who fell in on Sunday while playing. The medic is also a certified diver.

He entered the pit, a few meters down, rescued the child and performed one-man CPR until additional assistance was available. The girl arrived in Shaare Zedek Medical Center in critical condition and died shortly after.
