Some 8 months following Operation Cast Lead, the IDF’s counter-terror offensive in Gaza, there is an increase in the number of terror alerts in Gaza border communities, alerts warning of planned terror attacks in the area.
The terror warnings pertain to communities from Kerem Shalom in the south to Netiv HaAsarah in the north, the daily Yediot Achronot quotes a “senior security source” as reporting. In addition to intelligence warnings that terrorists are trying to penetrate into southern Israel from the border fence, there are also threats from the water, pointing to terrorists traveling on a small rubberized raft to an area community to perpetrate an attack.
There are also the constant threats surrounding intelligence warnings of infiltration via tunnels in the area.
