It would appear the removal of Jews from unauthorized outposts is indeed a very high priority for the right-wing government of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, a priority that even demands chilul shabbos.
This was the case on Friday night in northern Shomron when soldiers arrived to evict Jews who returned to the ruins of Chomesh, hoping to spend shabbos on location. The soldiers however were instructed to oust them on shabbos. IDF protocol does not permit chilul shabbos unless it is a matter of pikuach nefesh.
Defense Minister Ehud Barak appears to have another definition, possibly understanding his commitment to oust Jews from unauthorized outposts in compliance with White House demands as a life-and-death priority.
IDF officials seeking to respond to angry statements in light of the chilul shabbos stated the squatters at Chomesh were indeed in danger and this compelled them to order soldiers to violate the shabbos to remove them on Friday night.
Chomesh was one of the communities that was uprooted in the 2005 implementation of the Disengagement Plan, which also resulted in the destruction of SaNur and the entire Gaza Jewish community.

It’s so nice to see prophecy being fulfilled. Just too bad the birth pangs are so painfull. The world cries injustice when Arab squatters are removed who will cry injustice now? Who cried injustice for the Syrian Jews who were driven from their land. The Lebanese Jews etc…….
The double standard must end now the lies from the Arab world leaders must end now. The Israeli government must stop capitulating to the lies of the nations.
