About 200 people attended Tuesday’s kite flying event in Rishon L’Tzion, another event to draw attention to the plight of captive IDF soldier Gilad Shalit. The kite flyers were orphans of IDF soldiers, making the event especially potent.

Some of the kits had a message printed on them, including “It’s been over 1,000 days – can you believe it!” and “Gilad, it’s time to come home”.

On Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at 7:00pm, there will be an atzeres tefilla on Gilad’s behalf at the Kosel.
