Despite strong objections from community leaders in Chevron, the IDF has given the order to open the Chevron – Kiryat Arba Road, a road that was the site of terror attacks in the past. As a result of the deteriorating security situation and increased attacks, the road was closed to PA (Palestinian Authority) motorists.

Following the decision by Defense Minister Ehud Barak, who is working in earnest to comply with White House demands to relax security restrictions on PA residents, the roadway is once again open and accessible to PA motorists.
