Health officials report that mosquitoes infected with west nile disease are in the northern areas of the country, in the Hula Valley and Krayot areas. Officials of the Ministry of Environmental Affairs infectious disease unit found the infectious mosquitoes during routine area testing.

Experts warn the infestation may also be present in other areas, and they urge people to drain any stagnant bodies of water, a source of such infection. They also advise those who can to place screens on doors and windows.
