A 50-year-old female was admitted to an intensive care unit in Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba, diagnosed with a serious case of swine flu.
In southern Israel, a 62-year-old female with a heart condition was admitted to Soroka Medical Center in Beersheva, also in an intensive care unit with a serious case of swine flu with associated complications.
Health officials announce the number of people admitted in serious condition with the illness nationwide has climbed to 20, nine of which are patients in intensive care units. One is on a respirator and to date; there has been one fatality, an Eilat resident in his 30s.
The eastern Jerusalem resident in her 7th month of pregnancy remains in serious condition in Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital. Doctors made the decision to deliver her child by C-section. The baby is “improving” and is in the preemie ward but not out of danger.
The Health Ministry places the official number of people infected with the illness in Israel at 1,719.
