Tipat Chalav (well baby clinic) nurses in southern Israel are striking on Wednesday in protest against violence directed at them.
The strike was prompted by an incident that occurred on Tuesday in which a father was angered over his refusal to accept an appointment set to bring his child for a vaccination. The man began using foul language and he then threw a bench. He then began punching nurses.
A male nurse sustained a fractured hand and bruises. The striking nurses are calling on the Ministry of Health to provide them with protection during working hours.
