Four serious cases of swine flu are being reported in Israel. A 44-year-old male who is chronically ill was admitted to an ICU in Ichilov Hospital as a result of swine flu complications. Three others, admitted to hospitals last week, remain in serious condition.
A 22-year-old male remains in Hadassah Mt. Scopus Hospital in a medically-induced coma, on a respirator. Doctors explain his condition remains very serious, in part due to his chronic underlying illnesses.
A 25-year-old woman whose son was delivered by C-section remains in serious condition in Assaf HaRofeh Hospital, also in a medically-induced coma on a respirator. Doctors report her husband remains in the hospital, caring for their healthy son as well as remaining at her bedside.
A 21-year-old Swedish tourist is showing signs of improvement and she is being weaned off the respirator. She is still listed in serious condition in Ichilov Hospital.
Health Ministry officials report 1,094 cases of swine flu nationwide.
