Shas members and askanim spend shabbos in Tzimeret Hotel in Tiveria. About 250 movers and directors of the party’s educational network took part in the solidarity shabbos, which is continuing through Sunday, providing a mini-vacation as well.
According to Shas spokesman Shai Lachmanovitz, the event was nothing out of the ordinary, explaining party leaders meet several times a year for such events.
In other Shas-related events, there are conflicting reports regarding the intentions of former party leader R’ Aryeh Deri, with the mainstream secular media reporting he plans to make a comeback while frum media sources are not as certain, pointing to a possible attempt to run for prime minister rather than limit the former party leader’s efforts to the party leadership post.
