According to a Ynet report, six soldiers from the Engineering Corps fell asleep during a border stakeout, permitting infiltrators to cross the border from Gaza. The soldiers were suspended and jailed.

IDF officials confirm the report, adding that it could have ended significantly worse, with the abduction of a soldier.
