The IDF on Monday foiled an attempt to smuggle 27kg (60lbs) of heroin across the border from Egypt. Two suspects were taken into custody and remanded in the Beersheva Magistrate’s Court.

**6 left-wingers were arrested near Bat Ayin on Monday after they threw rocks at security forces.

**IDF soldiers taking part in counter-terror operations throughout Yehuda and Shomron on Monday night arrested 11 suspects.

**Israel on Monday night released another elected Hamas official from prison, Ibrahim Abu Salim, who was taken prisoner after Hamas took Gilad Shalit captive in the hope of using him as a negotiating pawn to obtain Shalit’s release. Another senior Hamas official was also recently released by Israel.

**Tens of Petach Tikvah residents were rescued from a burning Petach Tikvah building on Aharonovitch Street during the night. No injuries were reported.

**DM Barak on Monday night briefed both PM Netanyahu and FM Lieberman on his meeting in London earlier in the day with US envoy George Mitchell.

**Two males in their 30s were stabbed on Wolfson Street in Petach Tikvah on Monday evening. They were transported to Beilinson Hospital, reportedly in moderate-to-serious condition. Police several hours following the attack indicated the motive for the stabbings was unclear.

**Firefighters on Monday night were battling four forestry fires in the Tzfat area. No injuries were reported.

**During a meeting with visiting German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, FM Lieberman stated PA leaders are not genuinely interested in resuming talks as is evident by the reasons and preconditions announced as the cause for preventing such an occurrence.

**Arab MK Dr. Ahmed Tibi in an address from the Knesset plenum stated he must be prime minister and MK Talab al-Sana his foreign minister.
