5 minors and 6 adults were indicted in a Jerusalem court in response to their alleged illegal actions in last shabbos’ riots against chilul shabbos. It appears that police and the prosecution intend to make good on threats to come down with the full weight of the law against violent law-breakers.
Mayor Nir Barkat this week announced that he has received a number of email threats, which police are investigating, adding he is not intimidated and the parking lot will once again operate this shabbos, Parshas Balak.
Chareidim are also preparing according to reports from Meah Shearim and time will tell but it appears the capital is in for another stormy shabbos.
