On Monday, 7 Tammuz, Chabad will host a bar mitzvah for 107 orphans. The event will be held in Binyanei Ha’uma, the Jerusalem Convention Center. Among the boys will be those who lost a parent in the Twin Towers on 9/11 along with those murdered in Arab terror attacks in Eretz Yisrael.
The aliyah will take place at the Kosel followed by a festive seudas mitzvah at the convention center. Chief Rabbi Yona Metzger and Kosel Rav Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz are among the rabbonim expected to participate at the Kosel.
The annual event is usually held near 11 Nissan, the birthday of the late Lubavitcher Rebbe zt”l, but this year, Rabbi Sholom Duchman, who heads the Kollel Chabad, decided to push it off to Tammuz to permit additional time for the boys to prepare and to assist their parents so they too can prepare for the event in an acceptable manner.
