Thousands attended the levaya on Wednesday for 8 sifrei torah which were R”L destroyed in an arson blaze in Moshav Miftachim in the Eshkol region. YWN reported earlier in the week that it appears the blaze was arson.

According to reports, when some of the community residents who donated sifrei torah heard what had taken place, they collapsed.

Fire marshals report that gasoline was poured on the aron kodesh and the shul was set ablaze. A 42-year-old male resident of the community is in custody as the main suspect in the arson attack. No motive for the horrific act is being reported at this time.
