There is a mood of encouragement among PA (Palestinian Authority) residents following Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s Bar Ilan address, but more so following the Abu Dis address on Monday by PA Prime Minister Salim Fayyad, who stated a Palestinian state will be a reality within two years.
The prime minister called on PA residents to “roll up their sleeves” to make certain all institutions required for the new state are up and running by year’s end or the following year at the very latest.
Fayyad stated that Netanyahu’s Bar Ilan address was ambiguous, seeking to circumvent international agreements.
“I am proud to be addressing you from the university in Jerusalem, in the capital Jerusalem” he made a point of stating.
Fayyad made of point of highlighting the PA’s position, a refusal to renew diplomatic talks with Israel prior to Israel’s halting all construction in settlements, simultaneously demanding Israel lift the embargo on Gaza.
