Speaking at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, Minister of Strategic Affairs Moshe Ya’alon warned that America’s plans to achieve a comprehensive peace in the region within two years may result in the establishment of a Hamas state in Yehuda and Shomron.
The former IDF chief of staff indicated it may be wise to reassess certain policies including the so-called two-state solution, questioning the assumption that settlements are a stumbling block to regional peace efforts. He warned against “instant peace” which is destined to fail due to current realities.
We have spoken much over the past few years about dismantling the infrastructure of terror. Let us begin to talk about building an infrastructure for peace,” he stated.
