Israel to Compensate Arab Families for Damage Incurred in Bayit Shalom Controversy

According to a Galei Tzahal (Army Radio) on Sunday morning, Israel is planning to compensate dozens of Arab families in the Chevron area whose property was damaged by “settlers” during the standoff and eviction of Jews from Bet HaShalom last year.

The report states the government will pay for damages incurred by Jews who targeted Arab homes and vehicles. A committee evaluated damage and claims and is awarding a total sum of NIS 250,000 to 50 families.
