According to the daily Yisrael HaYom newspaper, the work to dismantle unauthorized outposts would get underway in a number of “weeks and conclude within two months”. The report quotes an unnamed senior administration source.

The report states efforts will be made to promote a dialogue to avoid a conflict and violence between outpost residents’ and security forces.

Eager to flex his political muscle, Defense Minister Ehud Barak last week began the work of removing the unauthorized communities, targeting Maoz Esther in Shomron, as well as an outpost near Kedumim and in the Kiryat Arba area. Barak repeatedly stated he will not tolerate anarchy, insisting the law must be adhered to by all.
