Commandos Eliminate Wanted Terrorist After 14 Years

idf2.jpgMembers of the police elite Yomam anti-terror unit on Thursday eliminated master terrorist Abed Al-Majid Dudin, who played a role in two suicide bombing attacks in 1995.

Five Israelis were murdered in the suicide bombing attack on a number 20 bus on July 24, 1995 at Elite Jct. in Ramat Gaza. 32 others were wounded in the attack. The second attack occurred on August 21, 1995 on board a number 26 bus near the Rene Kassam School in the Ramat Eshkol area of Yerushalayim. 5 people were murdered and over 100 injured in that attack. Dudin was responsible for enlisting both suicide bombers.

The arch terrorist was apprehended by PA (Palestinian Authority) security forces and in order to evade an Israeli extradition request, he was tried and sentenced to 12 years in prison for his actions. In actuality, he did not sit in prison, and has been involved in acts of terror since.

As part of the Wye Agreement signed a decade ago by then Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Yasser Arafat, Dudin was imprisoned but released soon thereafter, in 2001. He remained on Israel’s wanted list since, acting as head of Hamas’ military wing in the Southern Chevron area.

He was tracked down and members of the elite anti-terror unit arrived at his Dura hideout in the S. Chevron area. He was killed in a shootout.

Hamas terrorists blame Fatah and the PA for aiding Israel in his apprehension, vowing revenge attacks for his death.
