Hamas Interior Minister Fatchi Hamad on Tuesday called on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to “finish the world begun by his predecessor”.
Hamad, whose predecessor was eliminated in Operation Cast Lead, stated Hamas has come a long way in the talks towards a prisoner release deal and the current deadlock is due to Israel’s failure to move forward.
The Hamas official made his remarks during a welcoming ceremony for released terrorist Muhmad Azzam, who served 12 years in an Israeli prison. In his remarks, Hamad said the Olmert administration failed in its mission and the “New Zionist government” must complete the Shalit deal”.
