Barak: We Have a Holy Mission to Bring Shalit Home

Defense Minister Ehud Barak in a meeting with 12 reserve soldiers and officers working to obtain the release of Gilad Shalit spoke of the “holy mission” to obtain his release. The senior minister spoke of every “suitable and possible” action will be taken towards achieving this goal.

Barak expressed his admiration to the reservists, who do not know Gilad personally, for their dedication and involvement towards assisting in efforts towards his release.

In the meantime, Mr. and Mrs. Noam and Aviva Shalit, together with activists who have been assisting them, plan to once again take their battle to the streets as June 25th approaches, which will mark three years since Gilad was abducted by Hamas terrorists during a cross border attack at Kerem Shalom. The Shalit’s have remained silent during recent weeks, wishing to give Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and his administration a grace period before resuming their public activities on Gilad’s behalf.

  1. Barak and holy? Am I the only one laughing here?

With Netanyahu leading the government, I sincerely doubt whether we will ever see Gilat Shalit back alive.
