For weeks, thousands of policemen and volunteers assisted by choppers and other means searched for the missing teen until Israel Police officials announced the investigation was moving to the ‘intelligence sphere’ since the search had hit a dead end.

A note was received in January 2005 by an organization calling itself the ‘Chofshei HaGalil’ terror organization, claiming they were holding her. They demanded the government release 1,000 terrorists in exchange for information on Bennet but the organization never provided proof that it was indeed holding her captive.
