A major sharav heat-wave is predicted in Israel for Monday, bringing unseasonably hot and dry weather. Some areas are expected to reach or exceed 40C (104F), including the Negev, Jordan Valley, and Shfeila.
The sharav is expected to break on Tuesday morning, and temperatures are expected to drop again on Wednesday.
MDA emergency medical service officials urge people going outdoors to drink more fluid than usual, preferably water.
