PM’s Office: No Message from Syria

Officials in the Prime Minister’s Office are denying al-Arabiya reports that Damascus has released a message via Jordan, informing Israel of a willingness to enter into negotiations.

The report stems around Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s meeting with Jordan’s King Abdullah II, scheduled ahead of next week’s meeting in Washington between the prime minister and President Barak Obama. Mr. Netanyahu is trying to establish an anti-Iran coalition which he envisions would include moderate Arab nations.

The Jordanian monarch called on the prime minister to announce his commitment to the two-state solution plan, a plan that greatly benefits Jordan, since Amman is uninterested in absorbing the many PA residents in its borders, viewing the two-state plan as a viable solution to unload itself of the residents of PA (Palestinian Authority) areas.
