White House Meeting Viewed as Critical Relationship Builder

obi.jpgSources in Jerusalem are indicating the upcoming meeting in the White House between Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and President Barak Obama is one of significant importance, one that is likely to determine the relationship between Washington and Jerusalem during this administration.

Officials add that anyone believing Mr. Netanyahu is arriving in Washington with a printed formal copy of his political goals and objectives is mistaken, explaining the prime minister will explain that his administration yearns for peace and envisions moving ahead with a comprehensive effort that includes Israel’s neighbors.

Senior advisors to the prime minister, National Security Advisor Dr. Uzi Arad and Ron Bremer have already headed to Washington to lay the groundwork for next week’s meeting.

Following Netanyahu’s visit to Washington, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak is scheduled to meet with Mr. Obama on May 26th. PA officials on Tuesday announced that PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) will be arriving in Washington two days after Mubarak’s departure.
