Lebanon Arrests Additional Suspects in Israel Spy Case

The Lebanese media over recent days reported that 20 additional suspects have been taken into custody in the widening investigation of an Israeli spy network operating in that country.

The report states the suspects were apprehended in possession of “advanced technology” permitting the recording of and transferring of information and images. The suspects the report states provided accurate information to Israel that permitted pinpoint strikes against Hizbullah.

The Lebanese reports add that following the Second Lebanon War, Israeli espionage activities increased, adding that some of the agents include former combatants of the no-defunct Israel-allied Southern Lebanese Army, who lived in Israel for a brief period and then announced they were returned to their native Lebanon.
