These purse snatchers simply chose the wrong victim, Kochi Bachar, who decided no one is making off with her purse and its contents; belongings which she explained to police are hers and hers alone, things that she worked hard to earn.
Kochi, from Rishon L’Tzion, was seated in her vehicle on Wednesday when a young man approached her vehicle, standing near a partially opened window. She felt ‘uncomfortable’ she explains, indicating she did not know what this young man was planning, but the vibes were not good. She immediately placed her hand on her purse about the same time the male grabbed it. After a short struggle, the young man ran off with it.
“I saw red” she exclaimed, adding “I decided its do or die but this guy is not getting my bag”. Kochi threw off her high heels and immediately began chasing down the assailant, who got into a waiting car. She ran back to her car and began what appears to have been a pursuit on the level it would have done Hollywood proud. She was driving with one hand and speaking with police on her cell in the other.
At one point, they made a left entering Rechovot Kochi explains, seeing the opportunity, ramming her vehicle into theirs. The driver lost control and smashed into a wall, almost into the hands of police, who were waiting at the scene.
