The Chief Rabbinate of Israel released a p’sak against giving away any portions of Eretz Yisrael to the Vatican, Israel Radio reported on Wednesday.
The Rabbanut’s position was announced in response to the requested made by the Vatican, a request that was moved along personally by President Shimon Peres.
As YWN reported, such a decision can only be authorized by the interior minister and Minister Eli Yishai stated he does not plan to bestow any such gifts on Pope Benedict when he comes for his official visit.

Absolutely! Why is this in question? The Vatican is lucky they are not brought up on charges of theft for possessing artifacts that belong to us.
