Iran is a Global Threat – Including to Moderate Arab Nations


ach.jpgWhen President Shimon Peres addresses the AIPAC (The American Israel Public Affairs Committee) conference in Washington, he will explain that Iran does not only pose an existential threat to Israel, but to moderate Arab nations and the European community as well.

Mr. Peres arrived in Andrew’s Air Force Base in the US on Sunday, greeted by Israeli Ambassador Sallai Meridor.

Mr. Peres’ message to the AIPAC forum will be monitored carefully by American officials as signaling the direction of the new administration. He will stress Israel’s commitment to peace with her neighbors and that the coming year is will be a decisive one in the Mideast.

He will use harsh terms in his description of Iran, a terror-based state that busies itself with the development of missiles and nuclear weapons, a nation that threatens the entire world.

The president will explain that the IDF’s superior abilities permit Israel to take calculated risks towards peace.

Mr. Peres will be meeting with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as well as Senator John Kerry, who heads the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. On Tuesday, he will meet with President Barak Obama.

In his address to the AIPAC forum on Sunday, incoming Israeli Ambassador to Washington Dr. Michael Oren stated Israel will not permit a nuclear-capable Iran, explaining the government may not remain complacent while 7.4 million residents face an existential threat. He also spoke of the government’s commitment to bring home Gilad Shalit.
