Once again, the holy cemetery of Har HaZeisim in Yerushalayim was targeted by vandals. The latest attack was discovered on Thursday afternoon in the Yemenite section in the northeast area of the beis chaim. Tombstones were smashed and defamatory graffiti was painted on kevarim.

Religious Affairs Minister (Shas) Yaakov Margi called on police to increase patrols and do what is necessary to protect the holy site. Police report an investigation has been launched.

It appears that since Operation Cast Lead, Israel’s counter-terror offensive in Gaza, there has been an increase in attacks against vehicles with Israeli license plates traveling on the streets towards Har HaZeisim.
