Israeli Tomer Vajim, 26, who recently returned from Mexico, remains in isolation in Netanya’s Laniado Hospital. Family members report he had a high fever and was exhibiting flu symptoms when they began hearing reports of the swine flu outbreak in Mexico. This prompted them to bring him to the hospital where tests have been conducted and the patient remains under observation in an isolation unit.
Vajim is employed by a movie firm and was in Mexico for a work-related assignment.
His brother Liran explained “his fever was 100.5F and he was not moving, explaining he cannot get up. We were making a barbeque but he explained he cannot move. I suddenly realized they are talking about this on the radio and I told Tomer ‘you must go to the hospital and get checked'”.
Hospital officials confirm he has the flu, adding all the necessary tests to rule out swine flu have been conducted and they await results along with Health Ministry officials. They acknowledge that his recent return from Mexico does add to the concerns of the medical community.
In a related matter, some of the chareidi newspapers prefer to avoid using the term “swine flu” and are calling it the “Mexico flu”.

YWN has to change its headline because Rabbi Yaakov Litzman the new deputy health minister has declared that Israel will call the disease Mexican flu rather that swine flu becuase Rabbinic Judaism frowns on using the word swine.
Maybe the article meant 105 fever.
It said “high fever”, 100.5 is not high.
re #1-are you serious? Correct me if I’m wrong but the Torah also uses the word swine.
