ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet) officials on Sunday permit announcing the terrorist responsible for the April 2nd fatal attack in Bat Ayin was apprehended on April 14th.
The gad order has been lifted, permitting the announcement that the murderer of 13-year-old Shlomo Nativ has been identified as a 26-year-old PA (Palestinian Authority) resident of Chirbat Tzafa, located about 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) from Bat Ayin, has admitted to the attack and reenacted his actions for security agents.
Tit explained his desire to fulfill his religious belief of becoming a Shahid holy martyr compelled his actions, explaining he did not expect to live through the attack which claimed one life and left another youth injured.
After making a clean getaway, Tit destroyed some of the evidence linking him to the fatal attack and resumed his daily activities, not expecting to be apprehended.
He told interrogators the attack was planned weeks in advance, purchasing an axe and knife, which he hid in a nearby valley.
The report of the arrest was praised by Shaul Goldstein, head of the Gush Etzion Regional Council, in which Bat Ayin is located.
