Court Approves Delay in Talansky Testimony

talansky.jpgThe Jerusalem District Court on Monday approved a motion presented by the attorneys of former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert seeking to delay the testimony of the state’s star witness, Moshe (Morris) Talansky, explaining they were not given adequate time to prepare for the testimony.

The court agreed to the request, scheduling Talansky’s testimony for June 28 and 29.

The state explained that with the exception of a limited number of documents in the possession of US officials, all the evidence in the case has been handed over to the defense, in adequate time. In addition, the state expressed fears that too many delays may prompt Talansky to change his mind about continued cooperation and testimony.
The court ruled in favor of the petitioners rejecting the state’s concerns.
