Authorities on Monday raided the home of a former employee of the Israel Institute for Biological Research. A computer was among items confiscated from the Ramat HaSharon home of Dr. Yehoshua Gozes, who is suspected to revealing state secrets related to his former classified position.
The investigation began in June 2008 following a series of articles in Haaretz about anthrax vaccine experiments conducted on Israel Defense Force soldiers in the early 1990s, led by Dr. Avigdor Shafferman, the director of the Nes Tziona-based institute and an anthrax specialist.
Other employees are also being questioned in relation to the allegations. Gozes was released later in the day after he refused to respond to questions pertaining to his relationship with other employees.
