Hamas officials in Gaza on Monday condemned nations for siding with Israel, which “established a racist state while trampling the rights of the Palestinians and deploying all means of murder and destruction”.
Hamas officials add that by supporting Israel’s position, the nations including America, Holland, Canada and Australia give de-facto approval to the “racist Zionist” practices of Israel as well as the “crimes against children and other Palestinians”.
The Hamas media statements add that America’s decision to back the Israel-led boycott is a direct contradiction to recent statements released by President Barak Obama regarding basic human rights and related issues in the Mideast.
Protesting alongside Israel’s enemies in opposition to the nations that opted to boycott the Durban-2 Conference in Geneva are a limited number of persons identifying with a fringe element of Neturei Karta, misguided individuals in chareidi apparel, individuals whose presence provide a bountiful photo-op for the international media.
The protestors carried signs directed at nations which decided to align with Israel and America, calling the move “capitulation” to the “pressure and blackmail” of Jerusalem and Washington and therefore, they are not taking part in the international forum.
