In two separate instances in the past 24 hours, explosives were discovered in Elad.

The incidents occurred on Yehuda HaNasi and Shimon Ben Shetach Streets. Residents discovered explosives, prompting a response from bomb demolition technicians from the Sharon district.

There have been a number of cases of discovering explosives in Elad of late, including a mortar rocket. Police call on residents to exhibit vigilance and to summon police immediately if they suspect a need for assistance.

Officials explain that at one time, the area on which Elad was constructed was an IDF training ground, explaining the occasional discovery of old explosives.
